Birthday Weekend = Chocolate Hangover

For those of you who actually read our blog, I apologize that I'm the Posting Slacker. I can't think of anything to blame it on right now, so I'll just skip the excuses.

So, I had a really great birthday on Friday (and Saturday. And Sunday). Thanks to Paul for my new couch, purse & breakfast in bed; my parents for Takashi and a family room make-over; my amazing friends and family for all the phone calls, lunches, chocolate cakes, emails, cards, lovely & thoughtful gifts, tennis, pizza, all my favorite foods & chocolate, chocolate, chocolate; and last but not least, Thanks to Leo. Because he's the cutest, chubbiest, yummiest little thing I've ever set my eyes on.

It really was a great birthday weekend. You'd think I'd be tired of the attention, but I'm seceretly sad it's over. Good thing I have a husband that thinks I'm pretty awesome the other 364 days of the year.
And because I'm a terrible photographer (unfortunately not only because the quality is poor, but because I actually forget to take the photos), I don't have many pictures that document Birthday Weekend, but here are the highlights (aka, the only pictures I took):

Friday: Birthday Self Portrait Attempt #6 of 7. This is the only one that Leo looks even kind of happy in. He was NOT having it.

Saturday: Our friends Scott Wiley and Emily Tanner share March birthdays too. So lucky for me, we went out for some amazing pizza and also shared this delicious ice cream cake (thanks, Sarah). And thanks, Oliver for blowing out the candles. I can't wait to come to YOUR birthday party and blow out YOUR candles.

Sunday: A few of our friends were awesome enough to make all my favorite foods (including this very tasty chocolate cake) and came over to celebrate the end of Birthday Weekend. I guess that's what happens when you get to be this old. You eat twice your weight in chocolate for three whole days.

Goodbye, Birthday Weekend. See you next year.

Holly, Happy Birthday! Sounds like it was everything you wanted (plus some more chocolate). One year older and wiser. :)

I love birthday weekends...I used to frequently be gone to California with my family over my birthday....so I would have a friend party the week before, celebrate there and have a family party when I got home. If it timed itself right I could almost have a birthday month! Lucky me!! Hope your day was fantastico!

We are sad we missed getting to celebrate with you in person, but we were sure thinking about you. And what about how big Leo is! And all his awesome strawberry hair coming in. Can't wait to see you all soon!

Happy Birthday again miss Holly. Glad we could do some celebrating together! I want to come see the new couch and room makeover... hint, hint - let's hang out. Plus I need another squeeze from that little tank of yours.

Um, yes, I'm kind of sad I missed Leo's transition from looking like a baby to looking like a toddler. More Leo please! Also, happy birthday, and congrats on the make-over. What an awesome gift. Finally, love the Paul-looking art work. Give Leo's cheeks kisses for me.
