Remember to remember me...

Seeing Wilco over a half dozen times, you'd think I'd be over it. But EVERY TIME they kill it. Last night was no different.

Line MVPs Ryan and Rory were there at noon, holding down the fort (maybe sweat lodge is more accurate). Scott and I showed up at 2 PM Wiley Jacobsen Standard Time. It was unbearably hot, I was sweating like a KKK standup comedian on Amateur Night at The Apollo, and it made me realize that a) I'm probably getting too old/cynical for the hardcore fan thing and b) there aren't many bands I would risk sunstroke for (paging Radiohead).

But the show was a amazing. Solid setlist. Strong, passionate performance. A way-improved venue. Tweedy was in a good mood. Kotche was subtle and fierce all at once. And the Fleet Foxes were there, Sub Popped and Blog Saturated hype in tow.

It was fun to reminisce with Holly-- "Did they play this at Radio City?" "Have we ever heard this one before?" "Nels wears the greatest shirts" "They must be having a good time because they're breaking out the hits from Being There and AM" and "Which 80s sitcom actress' wig is Pat Sansone borrowing?"

We will see Wilco everytime. Maybe even at a barbecue someday.
