I was getting tired of seeing that creepy Banana Man everytime I pulled up our blog, so I thought it was a good time to post something new.
I'm officially big and pregnant now. My belly is bulging, though it's still a "cute" bulge, I think. And thankfully, no stretch marks... yet. As I entered my 5th month, and after overcoming my back drama, I was feeling really great. Until a week ago when I started having this mysterious pain in my upper right abdomen. At first, I thought it was just normal aches and pains from a growing tummy (and everthing else), but it has progressed into a very painful condition and I finally went in to see the doctor about it today. He thought it could be my gallbladder and he did an ultrasound to see if there were any stones.
No stones. Which is good, but a little lame since there's still no answer to the pain. The one positive outcome from my visit was that I coaxed the doctor into moving the ultrasound monitor from my gallbladder down to the baby, and I got to have another peek at our little guy! It was awesome. He's getting so big and his little heart was pumping vigorously. I'm continually amazed by the fact that I have a human growing inside of me. It's quite insane and quite amazing.
So, I now have to much more closely monitor my fat intake (since that is the main trigger for gallbladder pain)which is good, but a little annoying since it's nearly Christmas and I LOVE egg nog, chocolate milk, poffertjes and really anything fatty and yummy I can get my hands on. Hopefully, this will aid in keeping a little excess weight off, which will be nice come the Late-March-Post-Partum-Body-Trauma.
On a lighter note, I've had a lot of fun this year really getting into Christmas decorating and being crafty. Paul thinks I'm crazy, but it's been a fun outlet. Plus, I'm having all the young women in our ward over for a Christmas brunch on Sunday, so I wanted to do a little something special. Not to mention, I've put up all kinds of breakable stuff that isn't suitable for children... just one last time.
And why not?

Put out the breakables while you can...that's all I can say. ( :
I hope that mystery pain goes away quickly - particularly as you head into the final months of your pregnancy. It can't be any fun, but I have no doubt you have a cute pregnant belly. Hope all is well. Enjoy the holidays! Love, Kris
Hope you start feeling better soon! I like the link you added- "Thornbarbs"- John will love it!
What? I didn't know you guys had a blog...until Adair left a comment on mine. Glad the back pain finally went away. We'll be in Utah for Christmas the 21st to the 27th...hope to see you guys!
Holly-I found your blog thru Cherstyn or someone...I love hearing all about your life. By the way, I relate to the gallbladder pain. I had the same thing--no stones but severe pain. After a bunch of tests, they determined my gallbladder was emptying too slowly which was causing the pain. SO, I had surgery and had it removed (in DC). I am so glad I did...pain never again! You probably can't do that while your prego, but maybe after to prevent it from coming again! Hope that helps!
